CMA CANADA MAKES CHRISTIAN BABBINI AN AMBASSADOR FOR THE CMA PROFESSION BY GRANTING HIM THE HONORARY TITLE OF FELLOW
Montréal, Québec – November 30, 2011 – DECIMAL, a company that provides consulting services and technology-based solutions in Corporate Performance Management (CPM) and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) is proud to announce that Christian Babbini has once again been honoured. On November 18 at the Ambassadors’ Gala, Mr. Babbini received a CMA Fellowship, making him one of only 112 CMAs in Québec and 660 in all of Canada to receive the award this year.
For 33 years, the organization has been recognizing CMAs who have helped advance Management Accounting, made outstanding contributions to their profession and shown ongoing commitment to the community. After receiving the title of Entrepreneur of the Year from the Order’s Montreal chapter in 2010, Mr. Babbini’s professional work has now been recognized at the national level.
Christian Babbini, an acknowledged cost management expert at home and abroad has for many years been a key member of the Order. Driven by his keen interest in activity-based accounting and performance management, Mr. Babbini was eager to discuss activity-based costing as well as budget and performance management with American research groups such as CAM-I (Consortium for Advanced Management – International).
At the Gala, Chair of the Board and FCMA Charles Auger emphasized the enduring commitment of the eleven new inductees to the fellowship, as well as the Order’s energy and constant development, which has brought international recognition to management accounting.
